WHAT SHOULD I CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A HOME CARE PROVIDER?
There are many factors to consider when choosing a care provider. Firstly you need to be certain your chosen care provider can keep you or your loved one safe, well groomed and help you to manage any long term health conditions. The main categories of home (domiciliary) care providers are those that provide an hour by hour service or those that provide a live in care worker, with some services also providing registered nurses. FraserCare provides an hour by hour service and sleep ins (a care worker will sleep at your house if you feel insecure at home over night). FraserCare does not provide Registered Nurses but if you do have a condition that needs to be monitored by a Registered Nurse we will do our best to work with a Registered District Nurse provided by the NHS. Your care provider should also work with your health care professionals such as your GP, Pharmacist & Occupational Therapist etc to offer a joined up package of care. Joint working should be smooth with excellent communication between different organisations.
Keeping safe may mean that you need or want a care worker to always be around. If this is the case a live in care worker may be the best route. If you don't feel you need a care worker to always be with you but need a helping hand FraserCare is a good choice. FraserCare has a particular focus on helping clients do more of the things they love and getting the best they can out of life. If this sounds like you then FraserCare is the way to go!
WHAT TRAINING DO FRASERCARE SERVICE'S STAFF RECEIVE?
All staff are given induction and ongoing training which they will use to achieve the Care Certificate. The Care Certificate is a qualification that all care workers are required to hold that provides them with the training needed to provide good quality care. The CQC requires all staff have essential training such as Safeguarding, Manual Handling, Medication Handling & First Aid. Other training can be very client specific and if there is a need for a care worker to be trained to meet your needs they will be.
